These guys are well rounded. We use them on back-country, high altitude elk and deer hunts, with no blood-shyness. No problems crossing the fast or deep waters or jumping the big downed timber

We use them on way-out desert Quail, Chukkar and Grand Prairie Hunt hunting. No gun-shy problems. No dog shy problems. Level headed when we encounter bear

We use them in parades and at the rodeos for traffic control and sorting calves. We use them with the Mounted Search and Rescue team

Fox Trotters are indeed very athletic.  Although not commonly known two Fox Trotters are placed in the top ten in the AAA jumping in the 4 foot and under division

They are good in difficult situations over rough terrain. We use them for sweep riding of endurance events in the Sierras, which is very rugged rocky terrain. They always bring you back safe. On top of all that, an extremely comfortable ride

I got mine to use as a Field Trial horse with pointing dogs and high country big game hunts. I needed speed and comfort for hours a day in the saddle. It took him no time at all to figure out the competition and handle of the dogs. Many, many dog trailers prefer the MFT for its ride, endurance, work ethic and intelligence

We got my wife a MFT horse because of the temperament.  He is a calm, level-headed, intelligent animal. He's powerful, has a wonderful lope, and got a deep well of energy. He's protective as well

Because of their gait they can be ridden for hours a day, some guys ride a single horse all day. Their four-beat ride is nearly hypnotic and super smooth. Their stamina is amazing

Wonderful riding experience. Smooth gaits and long strides. Covers ground like no other under saddle. Brave and willing. My teen worked and trained ours in speed rodeo events and though she isn't the fastest horse she LOVES to work. This mare will jump under 4 feet as well with just a nudge. She covers acreage and doesn't spook on the trail or in forest
